Returning to Orvieto, Italy, Spring 2018

I am excited to be invited back to teach for the Gordon College's Gordon IN Orvieto in the spring of 2018. The class begins on March 26 and finishes April 19. It will be an intensive portrait painting class equivalent to a full semester condensed into one month. We will be working with models and the course is geared to beginning oil painters and advanced students alike.

Women Painting Women: In Earnest, Traveling Exhibit October 4-Dec 31, 2017  

“Women Painting Women: In Earnest,” a traveling exhibit opens August 4 at the Custom House Museum in Clarksville, TN, reception August 10, 5-7 PM. 
Curated by Alia El-Bermani and Diane Feissel, two of the founders of the group, it will travel to the J Wayne Stark Galleries at Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, opening Oct 16-Dec. 31, reception Oct 19, 6-9 PM. I am so pleased to have three paintings in this beautiful show.

Portraits of the Emanuel Nine Received by Their Families, June 2016

More than 200 guests from Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church attended the opening reception for the artists. Thank you to Principle Gallery Charleston, which will keep the exhibit up through June. The portraits will then be given to the families.

Tribute To The Emanuel Nine- A Portrait Project, May 2016

Principle Gallery in Charleston, South Carolina, is hosting an exhibition of portraits of the nine Emanuel AME Church victims for their families and friends. The exhibition is scheduled for May 29th, 2016, and will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the attack. There will be a private presentation of the portraits, gifts to the families, from 5-6 pm, followed by a reception open to the public from 6-8 pm. The paintings will remain on display through June.

I am honored to have painted state senator and Emanuel’s pastor, The Honorable Reverend Clementa Pinckney, and to have worked with the following wonderful artists: Lauren Tilden, who initiated the project and painted Susie Jackson; Stephanie Deshpande, who painted Mrs. Myra Thompson; Mario Robinson, who painted Cynthia Graham Hurd; Terry Strickland -Tywanza Sanders; Ricky Mujica - Reverend Sharonda Ann Coleman-Singleton; Judy Takacs - Reverend Dr. Daniel Simmons Sr.; Paul McCormack - Ethel Lee Lance; and Gregory Mortenson -Reverend DePayne Middleton Doctor.

Solo show opening August 26, 2015, Chicago

The show opens August 26 and closes with a reception for the artist and gallery talk on Friday, September 18, 4:30-6:30 PM

Prize juror for Art of the State, 2015

I was privileged to be the prize juror for Art of the State, the annual juried exhibit for Pennsylvania artists at the State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg. The show, which includes 127 pieces, opened June 28 and runs through September 13.
